Greek short «Midnight Skin» selected at Cannes’ Critics’ Week
Today’s announcement of the programme of the 62nd Critics’ Week, which will take place during the 76th Cannes Film Festival, was good news for the international course and impact of Greek short films. Manolis Mavris’ recent Greek-French co-production “Midnight Skin” was selected to premiere in this important programme. It is the second time that M. Mavris has participated in the Critics’ Week. His previous short film, “Brutalia, Days of Labor” in 2021 was awarded the Canal+ prize there, starting its successful international festival career.
The Greek Film Centre (GFC) congratulates the filmmaker, producers Romanna Lobacz and George Tsokopoulos, as well as the rest of the film’s cast and crew. At the same time, it welcomes the fact that the development and realisation of “Midnight Skin” started during the pandemic period thanks to funding by the Ministry of Culture and Education, through the GFC, through the framework of the Special Programme COVID-19.
